Mission 27 is a go!

Join in with the skydivers and ground crew as we bring you Mission 27 on Saturday, July 1st, starting around 9:30 AM. Make a QSO with a skydiver and get a one-of-a-kind QSL card. Watch us on Streaming Video and follow us on APRS as the mission unfolds.

Skydivers: Rob, KC6TYD, and Troy, W7BIG.

QSO Frequency: 146.430 simplex

QST and Updates: We will not have “Parachute Control” directing traffic as we usually do on the QSO frequency.  To get QSTs and periodic updates on Mission Day listen to the W6CX repeater located on Mount Diablo, 147.060+

APRS: Follow each skydiver during their jumps on APRS.  Simply search their call signs respectively at aprs.fi:  Rob, KC6TYD, or Troy, W7BIG.

Live streaming video: We will have up to 4 POV (point of view) cameras that will bring you live streaming video from the ground and from the air.  Go to http://www.ustream.tv/channel/mfwright

The skydivers wear a recording station as part of their payload, however, it does not always capture every QSO.  To confirm your QSO email Rob at kc6tyd@gmail.com for either skydiver.  This way you’ll get you QSL card.  Addresses are obtained by your QRZ.com information.

NOTICE: As always, this event is subject to change, delay, or cancellation. We have no control of the weather or the airplane.  Check back often.

Mission 27 Update

Mission 27 is still scheduled for Saturday, July 1st, however, we’re a little short on volunteers sign-ups. For safety reasons if we don’t have enough volunteers we may have to scrub the mission. If you live local and would like to experience volunteering with us please let us know. The location would be Byron Airport in Byron California at Bay Area Skydiving. Check back for mission status updates.
